    Zu den Bits äbe es noch zwei Schnipsel: Da gab es an der Mosel mal eine Party, zur Zeit des Empordämmerns des x386 und in der Küche hatte sich so ein Spätzustands-’Gespräch’ wg 16/32 Bit aus dem Nichts entwickelt. Irgendwann ertönte aus der Ecke ein erstickender Hilferuf: Is mir ejal, ob 16 oder 32 Bit, diese Kiste ist jedenfalls leer.

    Und den Klassiker… MS-Widows: A 32bit extension and graphic shell to a 16bit patch to an 8bit operating system originally written for a 4bit microcomputer which was written by a 2bit company that can’t stand one bit of competition.

    Doch um C nicht zu kurz kommen zu lassen… C: A language that combines all the elegance and power of assembly language with all the readability and maintainability of assembly language.

      Ob der mit der Kiste das auch bei 64Bit geschafft hätte? Oder mit 256bit-SIMD-Registern, äh, also acht 32-Bit-Kästen parallel? :D
