Another “great” offer for paid links arrived today by e-mail with the subject “An interesting Business Offer”:

Hi

Mistake 1: No personal address – so it’s likely that the sender didn’t really look at the blog.

I am webmaster of a few personal websites.

Mistake 2: Not a single one of these is given.

While looking for more related sites, I came across http://cimddwc.net/. I found your site very pleasing and would love to purchase text-links to my sites on it.

Mistake 2 repeated; mistake 3: No specification on how much the sender is offering to pay.

Please do come back on this with your views.

Correct 1: A name is given, and it even matches the sender’s Google mail address.
Mistake 2 repeated again.

Conclusion: Not like this. If the sender really had related sites that also had a certain quality, he or she would not have to resort to “blind” link purchase but could instead just advertise the sites and hope that the recipient likes them so much he might even link to them of his own will. Which doesn’t mean that advertising sites by mail were recommended, since that’s just another kind of spam.

And the mandatory question begging for comments at the end: Are you receiving similar mails, too?

Since the end of last year, I’ve presented more or fewer links of the week every Sunday which briefly link to various posts, articles, etc. – and I’m asking myself (or rather you) if you think this should continue like that, or if I rather should present some or all of them on any day (i.e. when I come across them myself) in a separate post each, in which I’d write one or two sentences more or show a picture (if possible).

Background is that I think that on the one hand, some interesting things might rather pass unnoticed in the links of the week, and on the other hand (too?) many short “link posts” would be the result… so what do you think?

The result of a German blog chain…

Die “Pimp My Technorati Authority”-Blogkette ist beendet, die Auswertung samt Grafiken findet sich bei tobiwei.de und drumba.de.

Der Text mit allen Links:

An einem schönen verregneten Berliner Sonntagmittag kam Tobi und Markus die Idee, die “Pimp my Technorati Authority”-Blogkette zu starten, um a) die eigene Technorati Authority zu steigern, b) neue Blogs kennenzulernen und c) den Teilnehmern auch ordentlich etwas vom Kuchen abzugeben. Noch am ersten Tag, dem 14. Januar 2007 haben sich Medienelite und Rate it – Web2.0 Blog angeschlossen und geholfen, die Blogkette weiter zu verbreiten. Der Alien schloss sich direkt an, gefolgt von Alex Schneider und Sonja Kraus. Es ging munter weiter und der Apfelknacker, Goch, Ruby on Rails und cyberdan waren die nächsten Teilnehmer. Schließlich zogen Paul Neumann und Jens Hellmeier – Blog | Web & IT – News nach, im Schlepptau mit Computer Grundlagen und dem Goggiblog, sowie Mobile und Osterfeld, Mountainbike, 24h-Race.

Als nächstes haben sich PIM, Da Dirnbocher, Monsieur Fischer, IMG und Stephan A. aus B. angeschlossen und brachten den Firmblog und Medienblog mit. Schöne WordPress Themes brachte die Blogkette auch zum Vorschein, welche aber von WarTech und dem Life Blog nicht genutzt werden. Im weiteren Verlauf der Blogkette nahmen Freetagger.com – Beta Blogger, maYO’s weblog und Andreas, sowie Web-Engineering und Prinzzess`Allerlei teil. Auf der Suche nach Outdoor Ausrüstung oder einer eBay Auktion, dann bist Du bei der Gedankendeponie oder Pattaya sicher falsch. Lasst Euch gesagt sein, dass Trekking-Ausrüsting nicht einfach nur JUST4FUN ist, wovon wazzup und BRAINHACK sicher ein Lied singen könnten, würden sie dieser Sportart nachkommen.

DAS FAMilienbLOG nimmt sicher auch eine Tigermaus auf, wenn sie lieb guckt, MOMWORX und Phili dürften es hingegen schwer haben, weil sie wie ein(e) angeber.in aussehen. Draussen nur Kännchen wohnt zwar noch nicht in der complexcity, bildet hier aber trotzdem das Ende für den Text. In diesem Sinne auf eine erfolgreiche Verlinkung.
