The first post in my blog – just a “hello world” – is from 6 Sep 2006 9:05:43am, hence my blog is now – on 10:43:28pm – exactly 1234.56789 days old. Just thought I’d mention it, there’s no big celebration. :)

What, you do want a little more? Alright, here’s a poem generated with Poetron in German, then translated by Google (plus one little correction) and some virtual champagne:

Blogging the blogs

Blogs must be dreaming.
You dream old and broken.
You grab silly and pure.

Oh Blogger, you’re old too!

What probably grab, blogging what?
The moods!
Grabbing blogs!
Old blogs dream
old and clean.

  • Nice summer photos at The Big Picture: Lightning and Divers.
  • A video of long exposures of bugs under a street light (via Nerdcore):

  • Great poetry: William Shatner reads Sarah Palin’s farewell speech and her tweets (via Astrodicticum Simplex und CNBC Europe):

Come on take a shot
Fire me higher
Don't you miss this time
Please don't misfire

The Heroic Trash Can

or missing screws

keep

it from its duty
to allow people
to properly dispose of trash

…my contribution to Sebastian’s trash can blog carnival (German) – can the text pass as a modern poem? ;)

Baby don't you crash
Let just trash trash trash

I can still remember
The words and what they meant
As we etched them with our fingers
In years of wet cement

Rise Against, "Audience Of One"

When you feel like shit…

…let a spam mail inspire you to do a blog carnival, that’s what Arschgurkenschweißwasser (German) thought, and an unusual one at that: Complete the above sentence. Alright:

When you feel like shit, stop kissing everyone’s ass.

I also got a little poem:

When you feel like shit,
don’t be a stupid git
and change the world a bit
(or your view of it).

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
