It’s not the closest of kin that came for a visit; they are from the family of the soft-legged edge sitters (Angulosedens mollicrurus), more specifically a subspecies that’s only active for some weeks in spring and in a long hibernation for the rest of the year: A. mollicrurus easterbunnii.

The penguin is reading an article in the latest Bild der Wissenschaft, a popular science magazine, about dark energy that compares the universe to a cup of Cappuccino: The amount of dark energy is like the coffee, dark matter like the milk foam and the known matter like the chocolate powder. (Though I doubt that the percentages really match up here…)
