I’d prefer dating scam spam…

100% safe…since there’s ususally a photo included, but you can’t have it all, another Anghela is hard to find. So this mail here (the image on the right was not included) is just a generic 419 scam – except that it’s not from Nigeria but South Africa (or at least claims to be) –, promising a multi-million sum for a pretended money transfer.

And, alas, the senders translated their English (which is maybe not completely perfect, and at any rate quite complicated for automatic translation) automatically into German, making it somewhat funny – in German, that is, so this is not really something funny for you English readers, sorry… Let me just mention that their statement about this business being “100% safe” turned into “100%-Safe”, i.e. a 100% safe/vault, hence my little image on the right.

Their English original (which they also included) isn’t really worth reading, but for the sake of completeness, I included it here:

Experience requirements for money launderers are rising…

At least this spam mail, which I received a couple times in the last few days, seemingly indicates that – well, they probably just want to pretend respectability with all that fuss, e.g. people with “strong judgment” will hardly fall for that… (emphasis mine, and of course I added the photo):

Links of the Week (2008/03)

Short and sweet:

Apparently too many “singular cases” for the Telekom…

But isn’t the Telekom or its brand T-Mobile pulling out of cycling sponsoring due to doping a bit late? Seems to me like they’re pulling the emergency brake only after the train had derailed long ago. (Maybe they have to concentrate too much on the iPhone, which they are selling exclusively here in Germany. ;) )

Well, so let’s get on with another new beginning, with a new sponsor here and there, with clean cyclists and still doping cyclists, with new cyclists, old cyclists, new coaches and trainers, old coaches and trainers, new doping methods, old doping methods…

:teufel:

Somehow, I doubt that there have been essential improvements recently and that there will be such improvements soon.

More also (in German) on Spiegel, Focus, N24 and many more.

Who’s reading something like that?

A spam mail that slipped through my filter today:

I replaced some data with “[…]”.

For saving their dishonor: The text itself was formatted with sensible line breaks, but these criminal dimwits declared it as Content-Type: text/html, which led to this display in my Thunderbird…
