The GEZ is worried about its image…

The German version of a “TV Licencing agency”, called GEZ, wants to stop akademie.de using colloquial short names for the TV fees and other related things and force them to use long beaurocratic vocabulary – by legal means, because the colloquial names would only be used to “cause a bad image for the GEZ.”

I can’t really translate the whole thing, but it’s, in my opinion, rather causing the opposite…

16:9 TV is popular

The result of my previous poll “ZDF (or TV in general) in 16:9” here in my blog (right column): 78% like the 16:9 format, 22% are not sure, and nobody dislikes it.

And with the huge number of 9 participants, this poll certainly is highly representative!

So right on to the new, this time religious poll – let’s see how long atheists hold the absolute majority…

The First is Second

After the ZDF (the “Second German Television”) which started to broadcast their news shows and more in 16:9 format at the beginning of this week, the ARD (“The First”) wants to follow suit on Sunday – even though just with the “Tagesschau” (the main news show), the “Tagesthemen” (late news magazine) shall follow one by one. Nice :)

(Let me mention the poll on the right sidebar in this blog again…) (This poll has been closed in the mean time.)

1.7777… > 1.3333…

So the ZDF is broadcasting (almost) everything in 16:9 since today – I like it :)

They just shouldn’t – even in the news – stretch old 4:3 archive footage to full width as they seemed to have done with African pictures in the main “heute” (=“today”) news show.

On the right hand side (belowabove the Search field), there‘s was a little poll.
