Movie music baton

Insbesondere erwähnenswert dabei “Princes Of The Universe”, “Gimme The Prize” und natürlich “Who Wants To Live Forever”. Nur schade, dass es von Freddies Version von “New York, New York” nur eine halbe Minute im Film selbst gibt.

Ich werfe das Stöckchen dann mal weiter zu Julia, Prinzzess und dem künftigen perfekten Lehrer Konna. :) PS: Und wer sonst noch mag, darf es auch mitnehmen.

Music Quiz 7

Today it will be a little easier than last time, I think – I’m looking for song titles represented by pictures. And the corresponding artist/band name, of course. And there will be more than one; when one is solved, the next will come. Let’s start with something easy:

1.) Which song title (from which band) is depicted here?

Musik-Quiz 7 Nr.1

Gelöst von Konna:  Pink Floyd: “Another Brick In The Wall”

2. Bild, selbe Frage: Welcher Lied-Titel (von welcher Band) wird hier dargestellt?

Music Quiz 6

Which 7 lyrics lines are described by this picture riddle, and what’s the name of the song and group?

Music Quiz 6

Of course you may guess or ask questions for the parts, you don’t have to know everything at once… And using Google & Co is, of course, severely frowned upon (except for confirming your concrete assumption or get all wanted lines correctly).

The solution, found by David:

“One” by Metallica with these lines:

Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror (the horror clown standing for horror, the lines for the absolute value)
I cannot live (happily jumping standing for “to live”)
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell

And thanks to all for participating! :applaus:

Blog carnival Music of the Year 2007 My blog carnival “Music of the Year 2007” is closed – thanks to all 16 participants.

:danke:

I had asked:

  • Your song of the year?
  • Your album of the year?
  • Your live concert of the year?
(Alternatively, if you weren’t at a noteworthy concert: Live album/DVD of the year.)

Preferrably, it should be new releases of 2007, but if you came across something older and like that more than any new stuff, that’s also okay. :)

Quite varying music tastes have shown up – partly even at the same blogger – and even though I personally don’t like all of the mentioned music, it was actually interesting to listen to the songs and albums that were mentioned (some linked directly, some via YouTube searches etc.).

I can’t really create a hit list – but there were two clear winners:

  • Timbaland: 3½x with “Apologize” as best song, 1½x “Shock Value” as best album;
  • Genesis: the “Turn It On Again” tour was mentioned 5x (though not visited 5x).

I might create a special award to send to these two, but I think they’d laugh at me at best.

Following is the alphabetical list of all participants – some mentioned more than one, some runners-up (in fine print, which caused the “half” counts above). On the bloggers’ posts (all German), there are sometimes also links to videos or homepages and explanations:

Music Quiz 5

Which two song lyric lines are described by these smilies?

1 2   3 4 5

And what’s the name of the song?

Yes, maybe that is hard – on the other hand, maybe someone instantly knows the answer…

Additional question (since I’m a Queen fan): What’s this song’s connection with Queen?

The solution, found by kanpeki:

There’s room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill

from “Working Class Hero” by John Lennon.

Covered by Queen drummer Roger Taylor on his album “Electric Fire”.

Thanks for participating!

(The smilies are from GreensSmilies.com, of course.)
