Blog carnival: Music of the Year 2007
Alright, now I’m conducting a blog carnival (what’s that?) of my own – with three little questions about which music you liked best this ending year:
- Your song of the year?
- Your album of the year?
- Your live concert of the year?
(Alternatively, if you weren’t at a noteworthy concert: Live album/DVD of the year.)
Preferrably, it should be new releases of 2007, but if you came across something older and like that more than any new stuff, that’s also okay. 
And I don’t mind if you write a little more about your choices, of course, but you don’t have to, a simple list is enough.
If you want to participate, write – as usual for blog carnivals – a post on your own blog (you can use the graphic above if you like) and inform me (and the other readers) via trackback/pingback or, if that doesn’t work, a manual comment to this post here; the carnival ends on 14 January 2008, and I’ll analyze the results afterwards, of course.
I’m curious to see what will be mentioned…
My own favorites are:
- Song: Within Temptation, “What Have You Done” (feat. Keith Caputo) – that song just rocked this spring.
- Album: Ozzy Osbourne, “Black Rain” – in my opinion, an all-around good and, somewhat surprisingly, not at all too soft work from this, erm, strange guy.
- Concert: Genesis (“Turn It On Again”-Tour in Munich) – great show, great ol’ songs, great evening (after the rain had stopped).
Music Quiz 4
This time, two “frightened” songs are wanted:
In which songs of which artists is the first-person narrator concerned or frightened about
a) 17
b) 43
things/situations/circumstances etc.?
(Hope I didn’t miscount them…)
If needed, hints will follow. 
1st hint after 4½ hours:
The artists of a) are more basically exclusively known for their comedy (not just comedy songs, that is); b) is a solo song of an artist who’s much more popular as part of a band (a band that I’ve mentioned before multiple times on this blog)…
The solution, found by juliaL49, though not without search engine help…:
a) is “I’m So Worried” by Monty Python with 17 different reasons to worry (and some are repeated) such as “I’m worried about the baggage retrieval system they’ve got at Heathrow”.
b) is “I’m Scared” by Brian May, who packs 43 fears into 34 lines from “I’m scared to move, I’m scared of standing still” to “I’m scared it may all be for nothing”.

Rockantenne – und daläuftlief grad die seltsame Version von “I Will Survive” von Cake. - Dein Lieblingssong wenn Du gut drauf bist?
Alles von Queen – bevorzugt die älteren Alben. Wenn ich einen Song auswählen soll, nehm ich mal “The March Of The Black Queen”. - Dein Lieblingssong, wenn Du schlecht drauf bist?
Zur Aufmunterung? Monty Python “Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life”. Ne, nur ein Scherz. Ich seh schon, es wird schwer, bei diesem Stöckchen nur einzelne Lieder auszuwählen… Um mal was anderes als Queen zu nennen: Pizzicato Five “Mon Amour Tokyo” oder Laika “Black Cat Bone”, die machen schnell wieder gute Laune. Naja, meistens jedenfalls. Oder Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight”. - Dein Lieblingssong, wenn Du verliebt bist?
Da darf ich mal Julia zitieren:
„Da darf ich mal Dany zitieren: ‚Da gibt es keinen bestimmten. Man verbindet mit jedem Menschen etwas anderes. Dann kommt es auf die eigene Gemütslage an.‘“
Ich höre nicht alles
…aber sowas schon mal: Diese CD, die ich bei JuliaL49s 2. Liedzeilen-Quiz gewonnen habe und die heute angekommen ist – nach Vorbild von Dee, der Gewinnerin des ersten Quizzes, anonymisiert abgebildet:

Julia meinte, auf der Liste der zur Auswahl stehenden CDs wären ziemlich peinliche Sachen – was nur teilweise zutrifft, denn ich stimme zu, diese CD kann man noch als einigermaßen anständig gelten lassen… und z.B. auch den Untoten, den ich gewählt hätte, wenn ich ihn nicht schon hätte, aber dieser wilde Garten war eine gute Alternative (um Titel bzw. Interpret mal zu umschreiben)…
