Am 17.06.2008 um 01:43 kam da eine „schöne“ Mail von einem gewissen Daniel Kagan von einem angeblichen „Domains Alert Service“ (domainsalertservice.com): „cimddwc.com for the owner of cimddwc.net“ – auch der Herr Basic, der ebenfalls eine entsprechende Mail bekommen hatte, meint, daswarnicht.net. Der Inhalt:

Lately, we obtained cimddwc.com for our development plans.

Oh, ja klar, tolle Pläne hast du da, du Spammer.

But, as you are the owner of .net, we first decided to let you know of an opportunity to acquire this valuable .COM.

Domains Alert Service is an engine specialized in search of domain names related to our customers‘ business.

D.h. zu versuchen, Geld aus ihnen rauszuquetschen für nichts, das sie nicht auch ohne dich tun könnten.

We assist our clients to be professionally promoted on the Internet by other measures too (Search Engine Optimization, etc.)

There are several reasons why you should own a .com version of your domain and among them the following: […]
– .com indicates reliability and professionalism.

Und warum benutzt du dann eine .com-Adresse?

Was auch immer du denn mit so einem dummen Domain-Namen anfangen würdest…

Wie auch andere schon erwähnt haben, wie z.B. bei Fanboygeeks (v.a. in den Kommentaren), registriert dieser Typ die Domains gar nicht.

Aber, nun ja, ich denke, es ist vielleicht nicht so übel, cimddwc.com zu besitzen, also hab ich sie tatsächlich registriert – natürlich nicht bei diesem Spammer, sondern durch einen hiesigen Registrar für weniger als die Hälfte seines letzten „Angebots“.

domainsalertservice.com zeigt jetzt übrigens „The requested domain is no longer available for purchase. We apologise for the inconvenience.“ für diese Domain an. Von welchen Unannehmlichkeiten spricht er jetzt eigentlich…?
